Roma

Romain Garzonio, known artistically as ROMA, is a French-Italian contemporary artist born in 1988 in Montpellier, France. Raised in a modest family in the south of France, he began his creative journey not through formal art education but as a plaster craftsman, an experience that deeply shaped his hands-on approach to art. ROMA’s work is deeply personal and meditative, bridging the invisible world of the subconscious with the tangible world of matter.
He draws inspiration from solitude, memory, and the quiet rhythms of daily life in Cambodia, creating art that invites viewers to slow down, reflect, and connect with their own inner landscapes.
His debut solo exhibition, Subconscious Square Roots, held at Rosewood Phnom Penh in 2025, features 38 pieces including paintings, sculptures, photographs, and drawings that collectively tell a story of transformation, healing, and emotional truth. Through every layered surface and blurred form, ROMA captures not what we see, but what we feel, offering a deeply human reflection of the unseen self.
