Cyril Berthet

Cyril Berthet, born in 1974 in the Lyon region of France, has been living in Cambodia since 2019. He began sculpting twenty years ago under the mentorship of a friend. His artistic vision was mostly shaped by the works of renowned artists such as Henri Laurens, Louise Bourgeois, Constantin BrâncuÈ™i and Andy Goldsworthy.
Throughout his career, Cyril's creative evolution has been deeply influenced by his profound connection with nature in all its manifestations. This reverence for the natural world gradually permeated his choice of materials and artistic developments. Upon relocating to Cambodia, Cyril immersed himself in the local flora, engaging in plant cultivation and garden design. The lush environment of Cambodia enriched his artistic perspective, inspiring him to explore outdoor spaces and innovative concepts such as plant walls.
Motivated by the country's organic beauty, by the specific sinuous lines characteristic of the pagoda's architecture and rich textures of materials like stone and wood, Cyril continues to explore his sculptural world with renewed fervor.
